Bob came to inspect the house, carefully evaluated what had to be done and explained us in detail the work that he would do. He then send us a very reasonable estimate and came to do the work soon after. He was very kind throughout the process and even offered to work around the nap time of our daughter not to make too much noise. He completed the work in half a day with his helper that also left the area clean and tidy. We would recommend Bob for great insulation work at a good price!Posted on Joanna2022-09-24Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They did a good job in insulation and good customer service.Posted on Caroline Oneill2022-02-07Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have used Bob and his team on two separate instances for two different properties, and both times they were able to quickly identify my issues and help remediate them! Most recently, my fiancé and I moved into a 1900s renovated home. Upon moving in, we quickly noticed that we were FREEZING all the time, even when cranking the heat. Bob and his team came and performed a full audit of the home and discovered there was absolutely no insulation on our third floor. They also gave us some other very helpful tips on how to save energy in our home. I would recommend anyone who owns property to have Bob and his team come at the very least do an audit at your property, as we ended up saving tons of money on our energy bills after using his services. It is definitely worth it, especially if you have an older home or have been noticing high bills.Posted on Maria Edmonds2021-02-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Got my attic insulated last February. H.E.L.P. did an excellent job. I could immediately see the difference in my energy bill, and the comfort in my home. I highly recommend them.Posted on Katherine Galbreath2020-08-03Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They insulated my (absolutely no insulation upon move-in) flat roof at a reasonable price! Bob and Mike came to assess/quote and Mike was super friendly and knowledgeable at installation!Posted on Alex Stimac2020-02-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. HELP was a huge help for us. We are new homeowners and we were shocked at our high gas bills during our first winter in the house. After researching online, we signed up for the BGE home energy audit (costs $100 and includes a lot of free stuff as part of the audit. There is zero reason not to do it if you are at all concerned about the weatherproofing in your home). Bob from HELP came out to perform our audit, which revealed the existence of several massive connections between the attic and our basement, which essentially caused our basement to constantly suck cold air in from the outside, forcing our furnace to work overtime. Bob walked us through his proposal and quote as well as the BGE rebate process, and was able to secure a really high rebate for us. Mike and Joe came out to do the actual insulating and sealing work, and they were polite, diligent, and thorough throughout. I can’t say enough positive things about the HELP team and I highly highly recommend both HELP and the BGE Energy Audit program.Posted on mary bradley2019-01-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After getting a horrific energy bill on a recently renovated house in Arbutus, I called HELP and Bob came by and completely insulated the home, made things more energy efficient, and educated us along the way! Just received our energy bill and we think Bob is a rock star! Thank you!Posted on Donna Green2018-08-23Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had my house attic and garage insulated along with some other energy efficiency updates and I can't say enough good things about H.E.L.P. After enduring adverse temperature extremes and paying out very high electric and gas bills for two years I am so glad to have made the investment to get the issues fixed. Thanks again Bob!
Fells Point sits along Baltimore’s waterfront with 18th-century rowhomes and cobblestone streets. We provide insulation contractor services for Fells Point buildings, including attics, walls, basements, and crawl spaces. Historic district rules require approved materials and methods. Shared-wall rowhomes need vapor barrier coordination.
Flooding zones near the harbor demand moisture-resistant choices. Narrow streets limit truck access and material staging. Insulation Contractor Fells Point specialists understand old construction challenges. Check current availability for your Fells Point address.
Insulation Work Matches Fells Point's Historic Building Requirements
You own a pre-1900 rowhome in the historic district. Approved spray foam and batt choices pass CHAP review. Inspectors check vapor barriers because shared walls trap moisture between homes. We show you material samples before install.
You receive permit copies after we finish. Interior insulation work usually does not need CHAP approval. Exterior foam on visible walls requires pre-approval.
We provide material spec sheets when you need them. Our team knows which products meet historic preservation standards. You avoid delays and rejections. The approval process moves faster when we handle documentation.

process
Attic Insulation Installation Follows a Clear Step-by-Step Process
You face $300+ winter gas bills in your three-story rowhome. Dense-pack cellulose fills wall cavities without removing historic plaster. Third-floor bedrooms in Fells Point rowhomes overheat in summer without attic barriers.
We run a thermal camera scan to show you cold spots. Follow-up testing confirms your R-value after installation. The dense-pack method works through small holes drilled from inside or outside. Your plaster stays intact throughout the process.
Attic insulation stops heat from escaping through the roof. You see lower energy bills within the first heating season. Our Baltimore insulation contractor team handles historic homes throughout the city. Wall insulation makes upper floors comfortable year-round.
Basement and Crawl Space Protection Against Harbor Moisture
You live near Thames Street and deal with damp basements after storms. Closed-cell foam blocks water vapor rising through brick foundation walls. Homes within two blocks of the harbor sit in flood zone AE-7. We recommend dehumidifier hookup after foam cures.
Mold testing is available if you request it. The closed-cell foam is rated for flood zones. Your basement surface must be dry before we apply foam.
Moisture barriers protect your foundation from ongoing water exposure. You gain usable storage space below ground. Proper basement insulation keeps first-floor rooms warmer in winter. Foundation protection extends the life of your brick walls.
Scheduling Around Broadway Market Days and Limited Parking
You live on narrow one-way streets like Shakespeare, Ann, or Aliceanna. Early morning start times avoid weekend market crowds. Parking permits are required on most blocks.
Broadway Market Sundays create delays. We confirm material delivery 24 hours ahead. Our truck parks at the nearest legal zone. We apply for temporary permits when needed.
Hand carts move materials if the truck cannot park close. Jobs scheduled for weekdays finish faster. You avoid disruptions during high-traffic hours. Our crews know the best times to access each block.

FAQs
About Insulation & HVAC Services in
Baltimore
1. Can you insulate shared walls in Fells Point rowhomes?
Yes, dense-pack cellulose fills cavities without disturbing your neighbor’s side. Vapor barrier coordination happens if both owners agree. We drill access holes on your side only.
The insulation settles into the full cavity. Your neighbor does not need to participate. Shared walls gain thermal protection. You reduce heat loss between homes.
2. Do I need CHAP approval for insulation in the historic district?
Interior work is usually exempt from CHAP review. Exterior foam on visible walls requires pre-approval. We provide material spec sheets for your submission.
Most attic and wall projects move forward without delay. Historic preservation rules protect the outside appearance. Interior upgrades follow standard building codes. You stay compliant with both sets of rules.
3. How do you handle parking on narrow Fells Point streets?
We apply for temporary permits before your job starts. Scheduling happens around Broadway Market days. Hand carts move materials if the truck cannot park close.
Early morning arrivals avoid traffic buildup. Our drivers know which blocks allow commercial parking. You do not handle permit applications. We manage logistics from start to finish.
4. Will spray foam work in damp basements near the harbor?
Closed-cell foam is rated for flood zones like AE-7. Your surface must be dry before we apply foam. A dehumidifier is recommended after installation.
The foam blocks water vapor from entering. Existing moisture problems need correction first. We inspect your basement before recommending foam. You get a solution designed for waterfront conditions.
5. Can you start early to avoid weekend crowds?
Yes, 7 AM starts are available on weekdays. Sunday installs are scheduled after 1 PM when market traffic clears. Early arrivals give us parking access.
You avoid noise complaints from neighbors. Most jobs finish within normal business hours. Weekend work accommodates your schedule. We confirm start times two days in advance.
6. How long does attic insulation take in a three-story rowhome?
Most attics finish in four to six hours. Wall dense-pack adds one day per floor. The timeline depends on access and existing conditions.
We give you an estimate after the initial inspection. Multi-floor jobs may span two days. You know the schedule before we begin. Cleanup happens at the end of each work session.
